As Kristine Eline continues its journey of transformation, the success of our White Ruffle Top over the summer has become a shining example of how thoughtful production can create something truly special.

In our commitment to a more conscious production, we took a leap away from our previous production manners and embraced the beauty of working with deadstock materials — an approach that not only aligned with our values but also resonated deeply with our customers.

The White Ruffle Top, made from 100% deadstock cotton satin, encapsulates this shift. Crafted from leftover fabric, this top represented both femininity and elegance while staying true to our mission. But the limited quantities available due to the nature of the fabric turned it into an unexpected hit, and we found ourselves remaking in similar fabrics the top several times over the summer — each restock selling out faster than the last.

A Reflection of Our New Direction

 

The high demand for the White Ruffle Top perfectly illustrates the success of our new approach towards our products. The limited nature of deadstock fabric means that each piece is created in a finite quantity, adding an air of exclusivity and uniqueness. Once the fabric is used up, we cannot recreate the same piece, and that scarcity only deepened the allure of the White Ruffle Top.

Kristine Eline Copenhagen is taking a new turn.

In our continuous evolving journey, we are charting a new course, prioritizing sustainability, and conscious production, and stepping even further away from the fast fashion scene.

Working with deadstock materials has opened our eyes to the potential of bringing more feminine and elegant styles to our customers, while at the same time reducing the risk of overproduction and supply/demand imbalances.

This shift involves creating smaller quantities of beautiful styles on a more sustainable basis.

Our decision to exclusively focus on limited items made from deadstock materials reflects a desire to distance ourselves from current fashion norms. While sustainability is often centered around materials, we believe there’s more to it. By purchasing deadstock materials and leftover fabrics from productions, and creating the garments in a small, local setup, we can avoid unsustainable requirements for fabric meters and minimum order quantities.

Embracing limited styles and leftover fabrics presents opportunities rather than constraints. Each piece reflects our creativity and craftsmanship, contributing to a narrative of sustainability that the fashion industry needs to prioritize.

As each style may not be reproduced once sold out, resulting in only a handful of each style due to limited deadstock materials, we have accompanied every item on our webshop with the quantity in stock, giving our customers the transparency they need.

With this new direction, we signal our dedication to redefining fashion norms and promoting mindful consumption. Each purchase becomes a statement, supporting sustainability and celebrating individuality.

What was your greatest learning experience from taking part in the Design Market ?

Our greatest learning experience from participating in the Design Market was the importance of direct customer interaction. Engaging with attendees allowed us to receive real-time feedback on our products, understand their preferences, and gain insights into market trends.

 

How was the Finders Keepers in Aarhus different from the one in Copenhagen ?

The Finders Keepers event in Aarhus had a distinct vibe compared to the one in Copenhagen. While both showcased incredible creativity and talent, we noticed subtle differences in the demographic of attendees and their preferences for certain styles. Additionally, the Aarhus event seemed to have a slightly more relaxed atmosphere, providing a unique setting for connecting with visitors.

 

What did you bring with you for the design market ?

For the design market, we brought a curated selection of our latest fashion pieces, including clothing, accessories, and possibly some exclusive items or limited editions specifically tailored for the event. Additionally, we ensured we had ample promotional materials such as business cards, flyers, and signage to effectively showcase our brand.

 

Any do’s and don’t’s ?

Do engage with visitors and be approachable. Building connections with potential customers can lead to valuable insights and future sales.

Do ensure your booth or display area is visually appealing and representative of your brand identity.

Don’t oversaturate your display with too many products. Focus on showcasing a curated selection to avoid overwhelming visitors.

Don’t forget to follow up with leads or potential customers after the event. Utilize collected contact information to maintain relationships and potentially convert leads into sales.

 

What did you gain from participating in Finders Keepers ?

Participating in Finders Keepers provided numerous benefits for our brand. Firstly, it offered exposure to a diverse audience of design enthusiasts and potential customers. Additionally, it allowed us to network with other designers and industry professionals, fostering potential collaborations or partnerships. Moreover, the direct feedback received from attendees helped us refine our product offerings and marketing strategies, ultimately contributing to the growth and development of Kristine Eline Copenhagen.
